My course mates from various specialisation (Stage Management, Performance Technology and Design Realisation) and I collaborated to realise an installation with the theme of “Constructivism”. My team consists of Maddie Korn (SM), Katie Timms (SM), Nick Glen (PT), Meropi Tourogiannis (DR) and me.
The “Constructivism” movement was a period where artists began ignoring the traditional focus. Constructivists believe that the rise of machines would free humans from manual labour and this is reflected in their art. They allowed their materials they worked with to guide their artistic practice.
To capture this period of art history, our team has created a piece of constructivist art in a modern context. As true constructivists, we allowed the materials we found to form and shape our installation.
